The eCall test bench

eCall implementation - structure and content of eCall messages (May 2009)

This service is targeted for everyone wanting to test functionality of eCall terminals. To evaluate in-vehicle terminal prototypes users can register and configure the service via a Web browser connection. For the present, the service is freely available. The testbench currently has 97 registered users from 24 countries (May 2009).

The objective of the test bench is to verify the communicational operations of eCall terminals (both after market devices and OEM devices). The tests focus on the integrity and availability of the communications. Such tests need to be carried out as the authorities must be confident that the service operates properly in a real emergency situation.

The structure of MSD has been updated in May 2009
